Team Galing at Puso electrifies UCV


Presidential candidate  Grace Poe, running mate Francisco "Chiz" Escudero, and senatorial bet Neri Colmenares captured a jampacked gymnasium during a political rally in the University of Cagayan Valley (UCV) Greyhounds gymnasium, Tuguegarao City last Feb. 29, 2016.

College of Maritime Education (CME) students set up for the arrival of the Partido Galing at Puso (PGP) candidates as early as seven o'clock in the morning, lining up along the university pathway to guide the convoy who just came in from a campaign in Tacloban City, Leyte.

Arriving ahead of Poe and Escudero, Bayan Muna party-list representative and senatorial bet Neri Colmenares staged his political outline to a swelling crowd dominated by students and student-leaders from UCV, F.L. Vargas College, and Cagayan State University.

Club Celebrates First Math Day

University of Cagayan Valley Math Club celebrated its first Math Day last Feb. 9, 2016 at the Greyhounds Gymnasium, UCV Balzain Campus, Tuguegarao City, with the theme “Mathematics: Simplifies Life, Multiplies Opportunities.”

The event was joined by delegates from the schools and colleges of the university like the College of Maritime Education (CME), School of Business Administration (SBA), College of Engineering (COE), College of Social Work (CSW), School of Criminology (SOC), School of Liberal Arts and Teacher Education (SLATE), and College of Information Technology (CIT) who competed in the Quiz Bee, Essay Writing, Slogan Writing, and Poster Making contests.

"I was challenged to strive harder" says Paula Tattao, Filipino Editor of The Norluzonian as she earned a spot in the top-fifteen during the Organization of Student Services Educators Inc. (OSSEI) National Conference on Campus Journalism and 9th Writing Competition photojournalism contest held at Baguio Crown Legacy Hotel, Baguio City last January 28-30, 2016.

In what seemed like an epiphany to the rookie Filipino Editor who just wanted to test her photojournalism skills, Tattao bested other competitors from various Colleges and Universities in the Philippines when her photos were flashed on screen in the conference hall during a presentation of finalists.
